When I hold my baby daughter in my arms, and see her smile at the comfort, love and security she enjoys, I think of an Iraqi father whose baby died of sickness or malnutrition.

I think of the Iraqi baby whose father was killed for a political abstraction from which she would never benefit one way or the other.

I want to say to them, "Please forgive us for not having the strength and courage to stop this madness." President Clinton says we need to bring Saddam in line in order to stop him from producing weapons of mass destruction.

The only mass destruction committed is by the United States. Two-hundred-thousand Iraqis killed in Desert Storm, and thousands dying regularly from sickness and hunger resulting from our inhumane embargo. And don't forget the huge ecological disaster. Plant and animal species threatened and huge amounts of toxins released into the air.

And why? Because he invaded Kuwait? Tell me how Iraq's invasion of Kuwait is any worse than our invasion of Panama? Two-thousand Panamanians killed because of what we seem to covet as our canal.

The crimes we claim Manuel Noriega committed were committed while he was under our control. In reality, Noriega's biggest crime was not following U.S.orders. So, as usual, we resort to violence.

Stop the violence against Iraq. What good came of our previous attempt?
