Marc Germain and KABC could not come to agreement on a new deal so the popular night-time talk show host has left. LA Radio.com
says the network wants KABC to carry a second hour of Mark Levin,
currently heard from 9 p.m. to 10 p.m., which would have pushed Mr.
KABC to 11 p.m. "I came to the difficult decision to leave because of
family considerations," Germain told LA Radio. "With two youngsters,
the new proposed hours just didn’t work for our family. I am not yet 40
years old and I have a long career ahead of me. I have been a ratings
and revenue winner working evenings at KABC and I have nothing but warm
thoughts about the station and hopes for their continued success." The
station issued a gracious statement saying, in part, "KABC Radio is
grateful to Mr. KABC for his years of service and to his listeners for
their support. Changes like this are never easy. KABC Radio thanks Mr.
KABC and wishes him well." Nothing yet on his website, but he's already off the station's lineup of hosts.
