My cycling buddy Gint (Mr. PCH) and I are rooting for you, Tyler. I've been a big fan of yours ever since you joined the Tour de Fance efforts and after reading about your record up Mt. Washington.
You are doing an awesome job under adverse circumstances.
Road riding is not for weenies.
I'm thinking you can climb with Lance. Use this Tour of Italy thing to cement your team and then it's party time with Tyler, Laurent and company on the TdF.
Hey, we have a 13% 2 mile grade around here we'd like to show you (and get seriously dropped on) some day if you are ever in Southern California and have a rest day you want to go do some spinning on. (-;
Ride on, dude.

Cousin.. Okay, maybe it's the Hamilton genes that keep you working on those mountains, but the Dudley's are pretty tough, too! Visited with your grandmother last weekend and she lit up when I told her I was watching the progress of your race every day. She is something else. And your dad had me and my friend Larry over for a family dinner a month ago.. missed you AGAIN, and you too, Haven, but finally got to know all of the new members of the family (including some tiny ones) a bit better! Sure hope it's in the cards to get together sometime. In the meantime, we are all pulling for you here and looking for you to beat your problems and make the best of your strengths and determination. Best wishes.. Bev

Dear Tyler, My athletic experience was centered around the sport of rowing, but there are many similarities in the physical demands of the sport to cycling. I now coach, and thought I would pass on to you a particularly inspirational bit of writing that I use with my teams. It is from a legendary rowing coach to his team before their biggest race; the year was 1958, and I've adapted his message slightly to cycling. I hope you find these words of some use.
A bicycle race is an art, not a frantic scramble. It must be raced with head power as well as muscular power. From the first moment all thoughts of your competitors must be blocked out. Your thoughts must be directed to you and your own team: always positive, never negative. Pedal your optimum power every moment; try and increase the optimum. Men as fit as you are, when your everyday strength is gone, can draw on a mysterious reservoir of power far greater. Then it is that you can reach for the stars. That is the only way champions are made. That is the legacy cycling can leave you. Don't miss it.
Stay strong and positve! We are all pulling for you and very proud of your accomplishments! Lindsay

You are one tough rider to get back up and catch the front group after your bad spill. Very impressive! Hang tough in the mountains and smoke 'em in the time trials.

Mr. Hamilton,
Hang in there dude. Keep on spinning and healing and, by next Friday, Casagrande will have to look up the road to see where you're at. We're rooting for you out here in the Rockies (where it's been snowing for the last 24 hours...and you thought you were experiencing bad weather!)
Best Wishes, Greg Vince

Forza Tyler! You lost a little bit yesterday but like Riis said, heck, 42 seconds, that's peanuts, and you hung on great today. You've faced down tougher challenges than this and come back - you (seemed to be) in much worse shape at last year's tour, but you still came through. We know you can do it!

Hey Tyler,
Keep working through these challenges in the Giro -- your moment is coming. You've done the training, you have a strong team to support you, and you'll completely tear the race apart in the TTs.
Your fans really appreciate the time you take to write the candid journal entries -- keep it up!
Buy Ole' a pack of M&Ms for me -- one for Carlos too!
PS: I'm a Buff too, go CU!!!! It's great to wear the CU Cycling jersey here in Austin... especially after last football season ;)

Your courage is inspiring. I know that you are the best rider in the Giro. Keep your head up and the rubber side down. The rest of the peloton will not know what to do after the ITT's.
